Waydev MCP

Waydev MCP gives your AI agents access to engineering intelligence context, improving accuracy and reducing cost. It is accessible under Settings in the left sidebar.

MCP Access Tokens

The main page displays a table of all existing MCP access tokens with the following columns:

  • Name - The name assigned to the token.
  • Created by - The user who created the token.
  • Expires - The expiration date of the token, or Never if no expiration was set.
  • Created - The date and time the token was created.
  • Actions - Delete the token via the ··· menu.

To add a new token, click + Add new token in the top-right corner.

When creating a new MCP access token, fill in the following fields:

  • Token name - A memorable name to identify this token (e.g. My AI Agent).
  • Expiration - How long until this token expires. Select from the available options in the dropdown.

Click Generate token to save. Click Cancel to discard and return to the MCP page.

Connect Waydev to AI tools

Once you have a token, you can give your AI agent access to your engineering data via MCP. Waydev exposes the following data categories to connected agents:

  • Developer Metrics - Activity, impact, and productivity metrics per developer.
  • PR Analytics - Cycle time, review quality, and merge patterns.
  • DORA Metrics - Deployment frequency, lead time, failure rate, and MTTR.
  • Team Performance - Team velocity, collaboration patterns, and capacity.
  • AI Metrics - AI-assisted code volume, acceptance rate, and suggestion quality.
  • AI Impact - Productivity lift, cycle time reduction, and code quality changes from AI.
  • AI ROI - Cost savings, time saved, and return on AI tooling investment.
  • AI Tokens - Token usage, cost per completion, and consumption trends.
  • AI Checkpoints - Guardrail triggers, review flags, and compliance checkpoint results.
